You've hit your 17 month birthday on Wednesday, and daddy and I can't believe how much you've grown in the last month. You are saying so many more words: ot (hot), apa (applesauce & apple), do (door), pa (park), pomme (French for apple), and this morning we think you said "yay" when daddy asked you about going to the park. You are so steady on your feet; you walk and run with confidence. You're getting better at getting up and down the stairs, sitting on a chair and getting on and off of your little push car. You continue to ask "dat?" pointing at everything imaginable. And then you ask again. You laugh at us when we are silly. You love being chased and chase us back. You have taken to grabbing the washcloths and putting them on your head as hats. You then go to the mirror to check yourself out. You've even let us put hats on your head again, asking us to put them on for you. Yesterday, I heard you saying "non, non" and when I looked over you were spinning in a circle while saying it. This is definitely something new. You also show your shy side when you meet new people, but once you are comfortable, you are quite the charmer and you know it. Tonight when daddy asked if you were ready for you bath, you said "non". You are getting really good at using that word. You've also shown more interest in using a pencil, pen or crayon, as well as holding your spoon and feeding yourself. You love school and are so excited when we've only just parked the car. You dance a little, or do your monster walk (taking giant steps), all the way to your classroom. You're excited even before we enter, and then once we're in, it's a party. You and your friends are a literal riot of screeches and laughter. You are quite a site. We can't get enough. You are doing something new every day, and we never know what to expect. We love the surprises. Keep surprising us. We can't get enough. We love you to pieces.
